Medication cannot be prescribed unless a diagnosis has been made.
If medication templates have been set up, you can search for and select a template by entering its name in the search field.
Multiple medications can be selected at the same time.
On the homepage, open the patient's folder by selecting the patient from the Queued Patients list, the Medical Cases in Progress list, or by searching for the patient using the Search Patient Folder field.
Once the patient's folder is open, use the left navigation menu:
Click General/Out-Patient for outpatients.
Click In-Patient/Ward for admitted patients.
Click Prescriptions.
Adding a Prescription
Enter the medication name in the search field.
Click the medication once it appears in the search results.
Enter the dosage in the Dose field.
Select the required frequency from the dropdown list.
To add a frequency that is not available in the dropdown, click the Plus (+) icon beside the frequency field and enter the new frequency.
Enter the number of days for the prescription.
Select the route of administration.
Repeat the process to add additional medications if required.
Click Add Comment to enter any comments or instructions for the pharmacy if needed.
Click Submit when you are done.
A confirmation message will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click OK.
Using the Refill Feature
Note: If a medication refill is required, select the medication(s) and check Add to Refill List before submitting the prescription. The medication will then be saved to the patient's refill list.
Managing the Refill List During the Patient's Next Visit
Click the Refill button to view the patient's refill list.
Click the Plus (+) icon to add refill items.
Additional medications can still be added to the refill list if required.
Click Submit when you are done.
