How to Assign a Patient to a Specific Department or Doctor


Heads Up!
  • A patient must have an activated folder before they can be assigned to a department or doctor.

  • A patient can be assigned to more than one department in a single day.

  • If a Specific Attending Doctor is assigned, no other doctor can attend to that patient for that visit unless the assignment is changed.

Steps to Assign a Patient to a Department

  1. Open the patient’s Activated Folder.

  2. Navigate to the Visit Details section.

  3. Locate Select Visiting Clinic/Department.

Click the dropdown and choose the appropriate department for the visit.

Heads Up!
    • Once a Specific Attending Doctor is assigned, the patient will only be visible and accessible to that doctor for the visit.

    To allow another doctor to attend to the patient, the visit must be reassigned.

Steps to Assign a Patient to a Specific Doctor

  1. In the patient’s Visit Details, ensure the correct department is already selected.

  2. Click Specify Attending.

  3. Select the doctor’s name from the list.

Confirm the assignment.
